Decide before you spend

Styling is the one part of the trade where nobody will give you a price without a phone call. We would rather you sat with these for ten minutes and came to us knowing exactly what you want.

The wall

Seven finishes, one car

The finish changes the price as much as the colour does — chrome and colour-shift are harder film to lay and cost more per metre before anybody has picked up a squeegee. Here is the honest ranking.

Gloss-finished supercar showing sharp reflections along the flank

Gloss

×1

The paint-like finish. Cheapest to fit, easiest to keep clean, and the one that hides a bad panel least.

Car wrapped in satin mint under a workshop light rig

Satin

×1.08

Halfway between gloss and matte — a soft sheen rather than a mirror. The most popular colour change by a distance.

Matte grey wrapped performance car on a city street

Matte

×1.12

No shine at all. Dramatic, and the most demanding to live with — it shows fingerprints and needs matte-safe products.

Carbon fibre weave on a supercar bonnet

Carbon fibre

×1.18

A textured weave. Superb on a roof, mirrors, spoiler or trim; on a whole car it stops reading as carbon and starts reading as plastic.

Car in a brushed metallic rose finish

Brushed metal

×1.22

Directional grain, so every panel has to be laid the same way round. That alignment is what costs the extra.

Car wrapped in a purple-to-blue colour-shift film

Colour-shift

×1.55

Changes colour with the viewing angle. Expensive film, and offcuts cannot be reused on another panel, so waste is priced in.

Mirror-chrome wrapped saloon reflecting the street around it

Chrome

×1.85

A true mirror. The hardest film in the trade to lay, the least forgiving of a mistake, and priced accordingly.

Finish references, not our portfolio — licensed photography showing what each film actually looks like in the metal. Our own work goes in the gallery as it is photographed. Come and see the swatches under a light before you choose: satin and matte look identical on a phone and nothing like each other in person.

Wheel & Tyre Studio

Wheels matched to your exact car

We are plugged straight into the International Alloys trade network: thousands of wheels, every one checked against your car’s PCD, offset and centre bore from just your registration. A new set of wheels is the fastest change you can make to a car — and the one most often got wrong.

How we work

Three things we commit to, that you can hold us to on the day.

We check the paint before we sell you film

A wrap follows the surface it is laid on. Dents telegraph through, and lacquer that is already failing will come away with the vinyl. We look first and tell you what we find, even when the answer costs us the job.

We will not fit an illegal front tint

The front side windows have to let 70% of light through, glass and film together. Fitting darker means handing you a prohibition notice waiting to happen. The rears are where the privacy comes from, and there is no limit back there.

Panels come out, they do not get wrapped in place

Trim wrapped in the car has a visible cut line at every edge. Lighting stuck to the outside of a door card looks stuck on. Everything that should come out, comes out — which is most of why a job takes two days instead of one.

Covering Stockport and south Manchester

Minutes from the A6 and the M60. Cars come to us from across Greater Manchester and Cheshire — for a two-day wrap, it is worth the drive to get it done once.

Quick answers

What does SK Zone do?+

Vehicle styling: full and part vehicle wraps, paint protection film, window tinting, ambient and starlight interior lighting, body kits and styling, plus alloy wheels and tyres supplied and fitted. Everything under one roof on Upper Brook Street in Stockport.

How much does it cost to wrap a car?+

A full colour change starts around £1,595 for a hatchback in gloss, and rises with the size of the car and the film you choose — satin and matte are a little more, colour-shift and chrome considerably more because the film itself costs more and is far less forgiving to fit. Use the build tool on this site to price your exact car.

How dark can I legally tint my windows?+

As dark as you like on the rear side windows and rear screen — there is no legal limit back there. The front side windows must let at least 70% of light through and the windscreen 75%, measured with the film on the glass. Our tint previewer does that calculation for you and shows what each shade actually looks like, day and night.

Do I have to tell the DVLA if I wrap my car?+

If the wrap changes the colour of the car, yes — you must update the colour on your V5C. It is free and takes minutes. You should also tell your insurer about any wrap, body kit or wheel change, because those are declarable modifications.

Will a wrap damage my paint?+

On sound factory paint it protects it — the film takes the UV and the stone chips instead. On resprayed or previously repaired panels the paint itself can lift with the film, so we check for that before we start and tell you what we find.

Do you fit wheels and tyres too?+

Yes. We are plugged into the International Alloys trade network, so every wheel is checked against your car’s PCD, offset and centre bore before anything is ordered, and tyres come off a live trade feed at the price you see on this site.

Where are you and do I need an appointment?+

We are at 36 Upper Brook Street, Stockport SK1 3BS. Styling work is booked in rather than walk-in, because the bay and the film both have to be reserved for your car — but you are welcome to come in and talk it through any time we are open.
